Kids see the light split into its spectral colors, which gives a teacher or parent a hands-on way to explain how light works.

Photographers place a prism near the lens to throw rainbow streaks and color flares into a shot. You can also set one on a sunny windowsill as a sun catcher that scatters color around the room. With two in the set, siblings or lab partners each get their own.

Handling tips

Optical glass is clear but can chip if dropped on a hard floor. Hold the prism by its ends to keep fingerprints off the faces, and wipe it with a soft cloth when the rainbow looks dim. Store each prism in its packaging between uses.

https://www.bigfrenchies.com/products/2-pack-6inch-k9-crystal-optical-glass-triangular-prism-b0cc1zb1z3
