The powder coat protects the steel from scratches, wear and rust in the yard. Laser welding gives the seams a clean, strong finish.

Building your A-frame

The maker recommends kiln-dried lumber. Use a 4x6 top beam, 120 inches long, with a true size of 3.7 x 5.7 inches. Pair it with two 4x4 legs, 96 inches long, with a true size of 3.7 x 3.7 inches. Fasten the wood to the bracket with the included 16 wood screws and 16 metal spacers.

Check every screw before the first swing and again at the start of each season. Pair this A-frame swing set bracket with end brackets from the options above to finish the frame. Other choices include base brackets, swing hangers and seat bundles.

Set the frame on level ground and give it a wide footprint so the legs share the load. If you are new to building play equipment, ask a second adult to hold the beam in place while you drive the first screws. Paint or seal the wood to match the green bracket and protect the lumber from rain.

Shop more swing sets and playground gear at Big Frenchies.
