Each one is hand sculpted, with a hand finished face and fabric cut to a custom pattern, and a teaching tag explains the breed's habitat, lifestyle and eating habits. Dog lovers, collectors and kids who want a pet that does not shed are the buyers.

How Hansa builds it

Hansa sculpts the whole body by hand, then finishes the face by hand. The fabric is hand cut from a custom design made for this animal. That handwork takes time, and every step from sculpting the body to finishing the face is done by hand.

The result is a plush that works on a shelf as well as in a lap. Kids treat it as a puppy that comes along to school and the dentist. Dog lovers of any age can give it a spot on a desk or a bookshelf, and a child who wants a puppy can practice naming, walking and caring for one in pretend play. Chihuahua fans in particular will want one for the collection.

Specifications

Hansa chihuahua puppy plush toy

Hand sculpted with a hand finished face

Hand cut, custom designed fabric

Includes a teaching tag on habitat, lifestyle and eating habits

Care and the teaching tag

Spot clean with a damp cloth and let the plush air dry. Keep it on a shelf or a bed when it is not out for play. The teaching tag is worth saving: teachers use it for a show-and-tell on dog breeds, and a child who is begging for a real chihuahua can read what the dog needs before the family decides. The tag covers habitat, lifestyle and eating habits, so it doubles as a short lesson for a school report on animals. Read it together at bedtime and the plush becomes a starting point for questions about real dogs.
