It is made of heat-treated 304 stainless steel and rated to 500 lb per spring. Pick the 4 inch or 8 inch length to suit your setup. Use it with hammock chairs, ceiling mount porch swings, free-standing swings and hammocks, indoors or out.

Specifications

Brand: WILD MAN

Material: 304 stainless steel, heat treated

Load rating: 500 lb per spring

Sizes: 4 inch or 8 inch

Hook: asymmetrical design to resist tilt

Finish: rust resistant for indoor and outdoor use

Fits: porch swings, hammock chairs, hanging chairs, free-standing swing frames

What a spring changes

Chains alone transmit every jolt to the ceiling joist and to your spine. A spring in the line absorbs the shock when someone sits down hard, cuts the creak and lowers the stress on the mount. Sitters feel a gentle give, and the hardware above lasts longer because the spring, not the hook, takes the repeated jolt. On a hammock chair, the even suspension system adds elasticity.

The hook on this spring is shaped off-center on purpose. That asymmetrical design bears more weight and helps keep the chair from tilting. The heat-treated stainless coil is a slight extension spring built for heavy duty use.

Installing it

Hang the spring from your ceiling mount or beam hook, then clip the swing chain or rope to the lower hook. Use one porch swing spring per hanging point, and match the pair when a swing hangs from two chains. The stainless steel shrugs off rain, so the same spring works for a yoga sling in a garage or a hanging chair by the pool.

Browse more swings, hammock hardware and outdoor play gear at Big Frenchies.
