- Chicken Sandals (Summer-Friendly & Budget-Friendly): An open-toe, lightweight option that allows for natural toe ventilation and grip while protecting the footpad. The Sandals are the ideal choice for hot weather protection, as they allow for better temperature regulation. Note: To maintain their affordable price point, Sandals are crafted from durable standard materials and do not include the X-Static® silver or Neosponge base. For a custom fit, the top cuff can be easily trimmed or removed with scissors if additional ankle coverage is not required.
- Species-Specific Engineering: Available in both chicken-specific designs and waterfowl designs engineered for the unique foot anatomy of ducks and geese.
⚠️ IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNING: TEMPERATURE CONTROL
Chickens regulate their body temperature primarily through their feet (which is why you often see them standing in water during the summer). Do not use the Full (Closed) Booties during extreme hot weather, as covering the entire foot can prevent your chicken from cooling down. For protection during hot summer months, we recommend our\xa0Chicken Sandals, which provide essential footpad protection while allowing the toes to ventilate and the bird to regulate its temperature naturally.
CRITICAL: Proper Measuring Ensures Healing Success
A proper fit is essential for recovery. Booties that are too tight restrict circulation, while booties that are too loose can fall off and leave wounds exposed. Please measure your bird's foot carefully according to our sizing guide to ensure protection and healing. Note: Measure each foot individually, and be sure to use the optional leg bands for a secure fit.

- Summer Safety (Chickens): Chickens cool themselves through their feet. Do not use the full "closed" Birdy Bootie in extreme heat. We strongly recommend using our open-toe Chicken Sandal style during hot weather to allow for airflow and prevent overheating.
- The "High Step" is Normal: When you first put them on, your bird might lift their legs high or freeze. This is normal! They usually adjust within a few minutes.
- Let it Breathe: We recommend removing the booties at night (if the injury allows) to let the foot air out and keep the skin healthy.
