The LTV A-7 Corsair II is a subsonic, carrier-capable, light attack aircraft developed by Ling-Temco-Vought (LTV). It was designed to replace the A-4 Skyhawk in the U.S. Navy and later adopted by the U.S. Air Force. The A-7 is known for its ability to carry a large payload of bombs and missiles and for its accurate weapons delivery systems, particularly its use of a heads-up display (HUD).A total of 1,569 A-7 Corsair II aircraft were built between 1965 and 1984. This includes various models for both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force, as well as exports to Greece, Portugal, and Thailand.
