Why choose a metal grip
Plastic handles can crack after years of sun and winter cold. A solid metal grip stands up to weather and to kids who swing their full weight on it. The matte finish feels comfortable in the hand.
Mount one beside a climbing wall, at the top of a slide ladder or at a playhouse entrance. Kids grab it to pull up, and parents get a sturdy handhold when they climb in to help. The handles also fit bunk beds, tree houses and garage gyms for indoor or outdoor exercise.
Installation tips
Hold the handle where your child's hand reaches without stretching, mark the four holes and drive the screws. Most woods take the screws directly. For very hard wood, drill a pilot hole first with a 4 to 5 mm bit, about 10 mm deep, then drive the screw.
Use all four screws and washers for each handle. Test the grip with a firm pull before kids use it. Check the screws at the start of each season and tighten any that have backed out as the wood moves. Pick a bright color like Glossy Blue or Matte Yellow if you want kids to spot the handhold at a glance.
