How kids play with them
Hand out maracas at the start of a party and play some music. Kids shake along to the beat, march in a line or freeze when the song stops. In the classroom, a teacher can split the class into groups and have each group keep a different rhythm.
The small size fits young hands, and the light wood keeps arms from tiring during a long song. Bright paint makes the maracas a fun table decoration for a Hawaiian or luau theme before they go home as party favors.
Since the maracas fit in a pocket or a backpack, kids can bring them to a parade, a sporting event or a family road trip. Pairs of matching styles let friends shake together.
