The Delinx plastic gear set gives makers and young engineers 200 small gears for motor projects. You get spindle gears, plane gears, crown gears and worms in 0.5 module, with apertures from 0.8 to 3 mm. Builders use them in robots, toy cars, boats and model airplanes.

What you can build
A small DC motor spins fast but has little torque. Add a reduction gear between the motor and the wheels and your toy car slows down and gains pushing power. Double reduction gears take that further for a robot arm or a winch that needs to lift.
Crown gears turn motion through a right angle, which helps when the motor sits sideways in a boat hull. A worm paired with a matching gear creates a big speed drop in a tight space.
All the gears in the set share the same 0.5 module, so the teeth mesh with each other. You can mix types and sizes freely while you test a gearbox design. Students in a STEM club can compare ratios by counting teeth and timing how fast an output shaft turns.
Tips for your first gearbox
Most of the gears have a 2 mm bore. Check your motor before you start and set aside gears that fit it. A drop of glue or a snug press fit keeps a gear from slipping on the shaft.
