Details
A rooster ventriloquist puppet is the comic relief of any puppet lineup, and Silly Puppets gives this one a working beak, wing pockets and a surprise around the back. He stands about 23 to 24 inches tall and weighs just under 1 pound. Kids, teachers and anyone who runs a farm-themed story hour will get laughs out of him.
How the rooster performs
Your hand enters through the back of the neck and works the beak, which opens and closes with little effort. Each wing has a pocket, so you can slide a hand in and flap, point or cover his eyes. With one hand in the neck and the other in a wing, he struts, crows and flaps through a scene. The easy-moving beak lets a beginner match words to motion.
Turn him around and the audience sees his featherless pink bum, which is the joke Silly Puppets built in. Kids find it every time, and the rooster gets the biggest laugh of the show. Save the turn for the end of a skit and the reveal lands as the closing joke.

Care and storage
Spot clean with a damp cloth and let it air dry. Sit him on a shelf between shows so he keeps his shape. He pairs well with a cow or pig puppet for a barnyard skit, and he makes a solid gift for a kid who thinks chickens are funny, which is most of them. Farm units in preschool, Easter programs and bedtime stories about early mornings all have a part for him.
