How kids paint with it
Open the lid on the ink pad and set it next to the album. Your child presses one finger into a color, then taps it onto a leaf, a petal or a butterfly wing. Fingerprints turn into dots, scales and flower centers. Kids can also use the side of the hand or a thumb for bigger marks, which adds variety to each picture.
Twenty-five colors give plenty of choice, so kids learn to match shades and mix color ideas on the page. Painting with fingers builds hand control and hands-on skills. The lovely patterns in the album give a starting point for kids who are not sure what to draw, and they spark imagination as children add their own details. When the album fills up, kids can keep going on plain paper and invent their own fingerprint animals.
Cleanup is quick. The ink rinses off fingers, hands and arms with water, or you can wipe it away with a wet paper towel. Close the sealed cover after each session. Lay down newspaper or an old placemat before you start, and keep a damp towel within reach for quick wipes between colors.
