George is a full body ventriloquist puppet who plays the dad, the boss or the man in the suit. Silly Puppets makes him about 25 inches tall and keeps the weight just over 1 pound, so a child can run him through a long show without an aching arm. He suits classrooms, churches and living room theaters.
Working George
Your hand goes in through the back, and your fingers open and close the mouth. The action is light, so beginners can match lip movement to speech without a fight. An arm control rod clips onto either hand. With it, George can shake hands, scratch his head or point at the kid who is not paying attention.
He has a peach skin tone and the tidy look of a businessman, which makes him a natural straight man opposite a sillier puppet. Because he has a full body with legs, he sits on a knee or a chair and stays upright between lines. Teachers use him to explain the rules, pastors to tell a parable, and kids to boss around their siblings.

Dressing him for the part
George wears child size 18 month clothes, so you can swap his suit for a sports jersey, a lab coat or a holiday sweater from any kids' clothing rack. Dress him the way you would dress a toddler, feet first, and clip the arm rod back on once the sleeves are in place. A small bag of spare outfits lets one puppet play several characters across a school year. Wipe his face with a damp cloth and let him air dry. Keep him seated on a shelf between shows so his clothes stay pressed and the rod stays attached.
