Sierra is a full body ventriloquist puppet built for kids who want a girl character with a big personality. Silly Puppets makes her about 25 inches tall at just over 1 pound, which keeps her comfortable on a young arm through a whole show. Classrooms, church groups and family puppet theaters all put her to work.
Her look and how she moves
Sierra is a Black girl puppet. Your hand goes in through her back and opens and closes the mouth. The mouth moves with a light touch, so a beginner can sync words and lips without a struggle. An arm control rod clips to either hand and lets her wave, point and cover her eyes during the scary part of the story.
Because she has legs and a full body, she perches on a knee, a stool or the edge of a puppet stage and stays upright between lines. Kids often cast her as the best friend, the narrator or the student with all the answers. She also makes a natural partner for another puppet, so two kids can run a scene together.

Sierra fits child size 18 month clothes, so a trip to the kids' aisle gives her a new look for every season. Dress her feet first the way you would a toddler, then clip the rod back on. Wipe her face and hands with a damp cloth when they pick up fingerprints. Sit her on a shelf between performances so her clothes stay tidy and the rod stays with her.
