A water balloon refill kit with 150 balloons and a water filler keeps a backyard battle going all afternoon. How you fill and play
Fit the filler to your water supply, slide a balloon over it and fill until it reaches about 5 inches. Tie it off, drop it in a bucket and start the next one. An adult fills while kids carry buckets to the launch line, and 150 balloons split into two teams of seventy-five.
The random color mix means each team can claim a few colors and scoring is easy. Fill a second bucket for the younger kids who want a slower game, and set up a target on the fence for the kids who want to practice aim before the big fight.
Clean up matters with latex. Walk the yard afterward and pick up every broken piece, since the scraps are a choking risk for small children and pets. Keep the unfilled balloons in their package and out of reach between battles. The warning below spells out the age rules, and an adult needs to be present during play. Keep the filler with the balloons so it is ready for the next hot afternoon.
