How the color change works
Each pencil is heat activated. When the pencil warms up, the color turns darker. When it cools, it turns lighter. For a bigger change, put a pencil in the refrigerator for a short time, then hand it to a child and let them see the color move as it warms.
The trick turns an ordinary supply into a small science lesson. Teachers can ask students to guess which spot will change first, or time how long the color takes to return. Kids tend to hold on to these pencils longer than a plain one from the supply closet.
Beyond the color change, each one works as a regular wooden pencil. Your child can write, sketch and draw with it, and fix mistakes with the eraser on top. Hand them out as birthday gifts, New Year treats, class prizes or party favors. With 30 in a pack, one order covers a full class and a few extra for siblings at home.
