Why jute works for kids
This twisted jute rope is soft and flexible. Small hands and big hands can grip the 1 inch diameter comfortably, and the natural fibers do not splinter into palms. Long fibers spun into strong threads give the rope enough strength for many rounds of pulling.
A 50 foot length leaves room for two full teams. Line up kids on each side, center the red flag over a chalk line and let the game begin. Parents can join the end of a team to balance the sides. Shorter 20 FT and 33 FT ropes are also listed for smaller groups or younger kids who need less space.
Setting up and caring for the rope
Lay the rope flat on grass or sand and slide the flag to the middle. Mark two lines a few feet apart on either side of the flag. The team that pulls the flag past its line wins the round.
Both ends come taped to slow fraying. After heavy use, Gothink suggests adding fresh tape and tying a knot at each end. Coil the rope loosely and pack it in the oxford bag. The tug of war rope for kids also suits camping trips, family reunions and team-building events.
