Balance pods for kids turn a living room floor into a stepping-stone course. Hey Play molds six half domes from 280g PVC, two each in blue, green and red, with a bumpy top for grip and a smooth base for stability. Kids from age 3 hop between them; adults use the same pods for core work and foot exercises.

How you use them
Space the pods across the floor and ask your child to cross the room without touching the ground. Move them farther apart as skills improve, or switch to a zigzag path. For a harder challenge, flip the pods so the flat side faces up and the dome rests on the floor; the pod now rocks under each step, which works balance and core strength.
Grown-ups stand on a single pod during squats, lunges or yoga poses to add instability. Standing on the bumpy side also gives tired feet a firm massage after a long day. The hedgehog texture keeps socks from sliding, and the PVC holds up under adult weight.
Teachers and PE coaches set the pods out for obstacle courses, and kids with extra energy on a rainy day get a goal that burns some of it off. Because the set includes two of each color, you can run color-matching games as well: call a color and your child has to find and stand on the right pod.
