Play inside the pit
A ball pit teaches more than it looks like it does. Toddlers crawl in, pick up a ball, aim at the hoop and throw, which builds hand-eye coordination. Counting the balls back in at cleanup sneaks in early math. The basketball theme gives older siblings a reason to join, and they invent games with made-up rules and scores. Each ball is sized for kids to catch and throw, and counting, tossing and catching can fill hours of active play.
Soft, air-filled balls are light to catch and throw, so the pit works in an apartment living room as well as a playroom.

Setup and storage
