The Little Jupiter diamond art Christmas ornaments kit lets kids build eight sparkly holiday shapes. Each finished piece can hang on the tree or stick to the fridge as a magnet. It is designed and tested for ages 6 and up and suits kids ages 8 to 12 who like detailed crafts.

How kids make them
Pour some gems into the craft dish, dab the pen tool in the jelly glue and pick up one gem at a time. Your child presses each one onto the matching spot on the sticker until the picture fills in. One piece takes 15 minutes or more, which makes the kit a good pick for snow days or a slow afternoon at home.
When a shape is done, kids choose its job. Add an adhesive magnet to the back for the fridge, or add a string to hang it on the tree. Tree hooks and strings are sold separately, so grab ribbon or yarn from your craft drawer. The finished pieces also make handmade gifts for grandparents and teachers.
The gem work gives fingers lots of practice picking up and placing small parts, and kids can see their progress grow with each row. Siblings can split the eight shapes and race to finish, or a parent can sit in and work on a star while a child does a bell. Keep loose gems in the craft dish between sessions, and slide unfinished shapes into a zip bag so nothing gets lost under the couch.
