Why cakes beat bottles in a classroom
Liquid tempera needs cups, pouring and a cleanup that eats the last ten minutes of class. A cake sits in its tray, takes a wet brush, and goes back on the shelf. Nothing tips over. Kids control how much pigment they pick up by how wet the brush is, which teaches a little about paint handling without a lecture. Six fluorescent shades cover posters, science fair boards and anything meant to stand out.
The set meets Art and Creative Materials Institute (ACMI) certification standards for quality and non-toxicity, which matters when the tray goes to a kindergarten group.
Use and care
Wet the brush, swirl it on the cake until it loads with color, and paint on construction paper, cardstock or poster board. Rinse between colors to keep the fluorescents clean.
