Details
A Chinese yoyo rewards a quick flick of the wrist with spins, flips and twirls. Rhode Island Novelty packs a dozen 6 inch yoyos in this set, which makes it a goody bag staple for birthday parties, carnivals and classroom prize boxes. Kids 3 and up get the hang of it fast. One pack covers a whole party table, a classroom reward jar or a carnival prize shelf.
What's in the box
- 12 Chinese yoyos
- Each measures 6 inches
How to play
Start with basic spins, then work up to flips and twirls through the air. From there kids invent their own tricks and challenge each other to copy them. Two players can take turns, each one adding a new move to the routine. At a party, hand one to each guest at the door and the room takes care of itself for ten minutes.
The appeal is simple. There is nothing to charge, and the whole skill lives in the wrist. Coordination and timing improve with every flick. Teachers keep a pack in the desk for end-of-week rewards, and camp counselors hand them out after a scavenger hunt. A kid who keeps practicing can work up a routine for a talent show. Beginners and enthusiasts can play side by side, since each kid works at their own level.
A dozen in one pack means every guest at a small party gets one. Take them to a park picnic or a street fair and the group has something to do between games. They also bring smiles to family gatherings, where cousins of different ages can trade tricks.
