The SunNordic Kubb yard game set brings the old Viking lawn game to your backyard, beach or campsite. Two teams throw wooden batons to knock down the other side's blocks, then topple the king to win. Rubber wood pieces stand up to grass, sand, concrete and even snow.

How you play Kubb
Mark out the field with the four corner stakes and stand the king in the middle. Each team lines up five blocks on its baseline. Players take turns throwing batons underhand at the far row, and any block knocked down gets tossed back into the other team's half, where it stands up again as a new target.
Once a team clears every block on its side of the field, it can aim at the king. Knock him over too early and you lose on the spot, which is where the strategy comes in. A round can last ten minutes or most of an afternoon, depending on how sharp the throwers are.
The game works for all ages, so grandparents, teens and younger kids can share one team. Bring the bag to barbecues, holiday weekends, camping trips and family reunions. Rubber wood holds up better than pine to repeated hits, and the pieces work on grass, sand, concrete, snow and ice.
