Why kids get a better grip
The handle shape follows the curve of a hand, so small fingers wrap around it with ease. A triangular texture covers the grip surface. That pattern helps when hands get sweaty on a summer afternoon or damp after a sprinkler run.
The grip is made with a one-piece injection molding process. Outdoor sets face sun and rain, and the colorfast plastic holds its black finish through the seasons.
Mount a handle at the top of a climbing wall, beside a playhouse door or at the entrance of a treehouse. Kids use it to pull themselves up and steady their balance before they step through. Bunk beds and fence gates are other good spots. Some people mount them as barn door pulls.
Installation
Hold the handle against the wood where a child's hand naturally reaches. Mark the holes, then drive the four included screws with a drill or screwdriver. Check that each screw sits flush and the handle does not wiggle before kids use it.
Inspect the handles at the start of each season and tighten any screw that has loosened. Wood swells and shrinks with the weather, so a quick check keeps the grip solid. Choose the green option if you want the handles to blend with a wooden set.
