How you use them
Blow gently and work through the six notes one at a time. The multi-section convex body is about 8 inches long, easy for little hands to hold. Teachers hand out a flute per child to introduce pitch, breath control and simple tunes before students move to a plastic recorder or a keyboard.
At home, the second flute lets a parent play a phrase and the child echo it back. Birthday parties use them as noisemakers, and a pair in the car gives a long drive a soundtrack, for better or worse.
