How you do the trick
Hide a lamp in your hand, then slip it onto your thumb when the lights go down. The tip lights up the moment you put it on and goes dark when you take it off. You can also press the tip to turn the light on in secret, which lets you pull a glow out of thin air.
Practice a few moves in front of a mirror: pull the light from behind an ear, move it from one hand to the other, then make it vanish. Kids pick up the basics in minutes, and grown-ups can build a full routine for a party.
The rubber tips fit most thumbs and fingers, so the whole family can take turns. With 4 lamps, two people can perform side by side.
